Decades ago, in the midst of the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, a paranoid Kremlin leader ordered the underwater deployment of two nuclear missiles near Cuba's shore; each warhead sealed in a protective cocoon. Buried in the sand, the twin nukes lay undiscovered for half-a-century.

Rumors of the missiles existence lure the attention of Yuri Tarasov, a pathological arms-merchant obsessed with possessing the doomsday weapons. Together with his ruthless assassin, Ivana Yenko, they board Yuri s high-tech yacht Decadence and head for Cuba.

25-year old MBA Dalton Crusoe is recognized for his quick analytical mind. When asked by friend and mentor Ed Kosko, head of the NSA, to interrogate a retired, Soviet military-officer seeking asylum, Dalton learns of a sinister plot to assassinate President Connor and Russian President Blinikov during an upcoming, historic summit.

In a race against time, Dalton struggles to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend, outwit the evil Tarasov, save the two presidents, and foil a nuclear strike on Washington D.C.!

Better than Bourne, smarter than Bond, I'll take Dalton Crusoe any day. Richard Trevae has created a work of fiction where his main character is about as charismatic as any man can be. Not only he is intelligent, but young and handsome to boot. But it is not only this character that makes this book so compelling; it is the subject matter. And what a time to read it ---- on the 50th anniversary of one of the most terrifying historical periods in world history ----- the Cuban missile crisis. I was quite young fifty years ago, but I remember that frightening time well. And Mr. Trevae integrates that piece of real history with "what if....". It makes for a suspense thriller that is hard to put down. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a novel that puts you on the end of your seat. Good job, Mr. Trevae, I can't wait to read your next Dalton novel.

The Tarasov Solution is a Great Read!!! Richard Trevae has crafted a compelling character in Dalton Crusoe. Well written with an interesting plot line. You won't want to put this story down.
I really liked this one. The scary part is that this could have been a true story. Outstanding fast moving plot.
I thought maybe I had found a new author that wrote like some of my favorites but he is a Clive Cussler, James Rollins and Jack du Brul wannabe. The writing is simplistic with many spelling errors, missing words and just weirdly worded sentences. Dalton was supposed to be this awesome agent but did not seem to be able to make the slightest move without permission from higher up. The story was quite predictable and there was no suspense or feeling of imminent danger. I finished it hoping for something more but there wasn't. I won't pay to read the rest of the series. Sorry.
Tried this novel as a sample and found it excellent. Great plot and one that I could not put down, So good I immediately bought the next two by Richard involving the same characters. I hope there are more to come.
One of the main problems with this book is an ongoing lack of proper sentence structure. It makes me wonder what kind of incompetant folks are teaching English language these days. One of the reviewers mentioned "weirdly worded sentences" and I have to agree. The plot is simplistic and not at all compelling. One of the characters floats in the Caribbean for well over a day with one arm continually bleeding. Even if it's only a scratch and the man has it propped up on a life jacket, come on guys, one little wave and there's going to be blood in the water. After that, there are going to be sharks. But somehow this fellow miraculously survives? I do hope the author continues his education and becomes a better writer as he goes along. This one doesn't measure up.
Great read, couldn't put the book down. Smartest villain I've come across. Plots just kept unfolding. Actually on my way to purchase the next Crusoe adventure The Israeli Betrayal.
This book makes you sit back and think, "could this have really happened?". The characters and plot were developed expertly and created a mental image of how history may have unfolded. The plot took several twists and presented several surprises that make you look up from the pages and wonder if recorded history is the true reality. Suspense is built and compounded as new characters are introduced and take on significance. A great read and hard to put down until finished.
